Dr. Emily Millson, DVM, CCRT

Dr. Emily Millson grew up in her parents tree growing operation here in Timmins.  From an early age she knew she was meant to spend her life working with animals.  She moved to Guelph in 2001 and studied in the Agriculture animal science program at the University of Guelph.  She earned her degree of Veterinary Medicine from Ontario Veterinary College in 2008 and returned to Timmins to practice as a mixed animal veterinarian.  In January 2022 she opened Millson Veterinary Services.

When she is not working, she loves spending time with her husband and three young boys.  They enjoy traveling, camping along the shores of Lake Superior and taking care of her dogs, horses, sheep, chickens and variety of other critters. 

 

 

Erin Rathbone
Practice Manager

Erin is an American transplant, who was born in North Carolina and raised in South East Texas.  She has a deep love of agriculture and owns a small hobby farm with her husband and daughter on the outskirts of Timmins.

  

Erin brings with her over 20 years experience in veterinary medicine as a technician and supervisor.  She loves to laugh and strives to maintain a positive environment for the humans and pets that come through our doors.

Alyssa McKean RVT
Technician 

Alyssa is a true northern girl.  She was born in Sudbury then raised in Espanola and Timmins.  She spent most of her early childhood on a sailboat with her family and the rest on the back of a horse.

Alyssa is a Georgian College honors graduate and brings with her a decade of mixed animal experience as an Registered Veterinary Technician.  She has a particular interest in behavior and making pets visit the most positive experience.

Mel Zahra RVT
Receptionist

 

Mel grew up in Coniston and moved to Timmins in 2012.  She is a family orientated person who spends her time off with her husband, son and fur babies.

 

She brings with her over 15 years experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She loves to make people smile, is very personable and makes you feel welcomed when you walk in the door.

Alisha Martin-Cook VT
Technician

Alisha is a Timmins girl, born and raised.  She is all about her family and enjoys spending her weekends with her husband and dogs at the cottage or at the barn with her horse. 

Alisha brings with her 4 years experience as a veterinary technician.  She has a bright, fun loving personality and strives to treat each pet we see like her own. 

Ashley McIntyre VT
Technician

Ashley was born in Timmins and raised in Matheson.  When she is not at work, she enjoys camping, reading or spending time with her family and friends. She knew at an early age she wanted to work with animals and graduated from Northern College, Veterinary Technician program in 2023.

Ashley joined us while she was in school for her placement and decided she didn't want to leave.  She has a true passion for the field and her organization skills help keep the team on track.

Kameron Brousseau VA
Assistant

Kameron was born and raised here in Timmins.  She has a love for the great outdoors and spends her time hunting, fishing, sledding and hiking.  When she is not doing that, she is at the barn with her Thoroughbred/Fell horse, Lexi.

She is a graduate of the Veterinary Assistant program at Northern College.  She has an upbeat personality and is always willing to lend a hand to clients, team members or patients in need of support. 

Cruz
Mental Support Worker &
Social Media Ambassador 

Cruz is a Golden Retriever who stole all our hearts when she walked in the door.  She has a playful personality and is a joy to have around.

She is support for the team when they need a mental break, to play or snuggle.  She is always encouraging us to stay active by going for a walk at lunch or for playtime in the Dog Gym.

Tink
Head of Morale and General Chaos 

Tink provides snuggles and general amusement to all the staff on good days and bad.  She gets into EVERYTHING so you can't leave something laying around. 

She offers moral support to the cats in the hospital, talking them through tough situations.  She gives the canine friends a nice distraction from being away from their families.  .
